After their night of catching up, Tabitha had decided they were in much need of caffeinated refreshments and sweets. Otherwise known as coffee and cakes. So she'd dragged an almost-fully-clothed Rhys to her favorite cafe, settling them in a dark corner with two steaming (or icy) cups of whatever had suited their moods.
Sipping at her Pumpkin Spice Latte, she eyed her companion over the rim of her cup. The type of eyeing that was slightly smug, content, and okay, she was undressing him with her eyes too. She couldn't exactly help herself.
And under the table? Well, she was tugging at the bottom of his shirt and sassing him. Her motive for the coffee: Get him enough caffeine to keep him going.
Why yes, she could be a little devil-woman if she wanted to be. But he should know that already. Her personality hadn't changed a bit in all this time.

Rhys couldn't keep the conspiratorial grin off his face as his hand traveled up and down the inside of her thigh, making small circles with his fingers. The next moment, however, he had pulled completely to his own side of their little seating arrangement. For what came towards them was not something he had been prepared to deal with.
Striding calmly to the table, Jay Lumina pulled up an uninvited chair and sat with the back against the table, his chest resting on it.
"So," he said, noting Rhys, who was pointedly not looking at anything in particular, "How are things?"
And then, without waiting for any sort of response, he burst from his seat, pointing an accusing finger at Tabitha, "You slept with him, didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?!" and then he turned to glare at Rhys who was at current moment attempting to quietly slip away, "And YOU. WE shall have words later."

"Um..." Tabitha had the urge to drop her head into her hands. What was it with all these people and their random outbursts lately?
She noted Rhys trying to slip away, and quickly reached over and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, dragging him back fully into his seat. If she had to sit through this then so did he. It takes two to do the horizontal tango, after all.
"Firstly, yes, we did," she told Jay calmly. Why should she feel bad for telling the truth on this? "And second of all, your point?"
She really wasn't getting the big deal. Jay and her only made out that one time in the library.... and then he'd never called her. She'd assumed he wasn't interested, but most of all, since they had no set relationship, she was open to others. So, what was the big deal?
Unbeknownst to any of them, a man had snuck up behind Rhys. And then there was a sudden, loud POP!!! noise behind Rhys' head, as the man popped a whole sheet of bubble wrap in one go.
"HYDE! HYDE! HYDE! HYDE!" He did a roundabout dance, making air guitar motions and stuck his tongue out at Jay. And then he straightened out, scratching his head innocently and looked at the three of them. For a moment he looked entirely sane. "You should just talk things out like logical people, but that would just make too much sens- Just stick a ripe banana in your ear!
I AM THE BANANA KING!"
And the moment of sanity was a brief one, and he was running off, cackling merrily, and singing a song about bananas and world peace, leaving them all stunned.

Jay stared disbelievingly at Tabitha until the crazy man popped his bubble wrap. And then instead of saying anything else, he threw up his hands in exasperation and stomped out.
Rhys just about jumped through the roof, seeing the same crazy guy as before...except not. Refusing to believe that there could be two of them, he rationed that they'd been followed here. Great.
"Now, what?" he said, irritated.

"Perhaps it's time I throw out my pacifist nature and hunt down that crazy man?" Tabitha slid down so that she could prop her legs up on the table, her head lolling to the side to look at Rhys. "As for Lucient.... I really have no clue, to be honest. A part of me wants to go after him and figure out just what is going on through that head of his. And then there's another part of me that just wants to let it go and drag you into the back. Both would be plausible courses of action, but either choice I make is bound to have repurcussions."
She sighed, scooting down even more. She just didn't get this at all.

The Rhys of the past would have told her to go after Light, to make things right. But he was no longer that person. So it was with no regrets that he pulled her into the back and proceeded to restart their...bonding experience.
