Lily's eyes widened, shocked. Naw, couldn't be? Could she? Really? Lily dared to hope.
"Uh... er... uhm.... er... well... I... Are you?" And then after a moment of more stammering she blurted, "Kinda."
Well, she didn't really know for sure yet. That's why all the books. She was still trying to figure things out. She wasn't sure she was the witch that everyone was used to. She was different. Odd.

Laurel nodded in a rather scared way, a way which clearly showed a great deal of effort to try and fit in the fact that there were other witches then the coven in New Salem.
It was quite a scary thought, and that was without the shapeshifters and the vampires added into the mix.
Finally she managed to squeak "I think I need to sit down" and moved across to the bench to sit down hard.

Laurel was worrying Lily. It must be a new concept to find other witches than herself. Lily remembered feeling the same way when she first started to remember her past life. There had been a lot of freaking out, and even more when her powers started to form. It was no doubt her powers were stronger the more emotional she got, if the lightning that had struck down the tree beside her was anything to go by at the time.
With a little hesitation, Lily patted her new friend on the shoulder awkwardly. "I take it you don't know many witches? Or is it something else? To be honest... I'm not even sure if that's what I am... Er. It's hard to explain, but of all the ones I've met, and all the research I've gone through, I'm a bit odd in comparison."

Laurel bit her lip for a moment and then finally shook her head “no, well I have but only back in New Salem… I didn’t think there were any other witches…”
She remained sat on the bench for a moment and stared at the ground, a confused expression crossing her face as she thought back to New Salem and the coven…
And then she shrugged again ,a bright smile roared back into life on her face and she looked extremely happy about the whole situation “I suppose I should have respected it though, I mean there had to be other covens, there couldn’t be only twelve witches on the face of the planet, that’d just be impossible.”
Laurel recovers quickly.

Lily nodded in understanding. "Well, there are a lot of psuedo-witches," she said, "Who pracitce the Wiccan religion, but from what I've heard they can't really do magic. It's all in the mind or something. I don't know a whole lot myself yet, but I'm learning. There's this store on the edge of the strip, pretty nondescript, where everyone tends to go. But then the owner wound up hounding me... kind of... and that's how I learned about the Nightworld."
Lily trailed off, remembering the day she'd first gone to the Harman store. She'd been looking for some sort of answers, and while she'd gotten some, she hadn't gotten all of them. But the girl who ran it, Blaise, while very off-putting, had somehow known that Lily really was magical and not a regular human. From there on, the girl had pratically dragged her in back and it had been a game of twenty questions. Lily had the feeling though that Blaise hadn't told her everything.
As an afterthought, Lily added, "The Nightworld is what we call the collective group of non-humans. It's supposed to be this massively secret society. There are laws against exposure, to protect ourselves against harm or a massive panic from them." By them, she meant the humans. She didn't mean it in a predjudiced way, just as a statement of how different they were, and how a majority would find it hard to except people like them.

Laurel opened her mouth to ask about the Nightworld but then shut it again as the information was told to her… Only for her jaw to drop open again as her brain connected the collective group of Non-humans bit to the fact that… Well, a collective group.
A more then just witches group.
Now that was more of a shock.

"Sorry," Lily said quickly upon seeing Laurel's shock. "I didn't mean to shock you with all this. I was pretty much the same way when I started finding out these things. Actually broke a tree on accident- But I fixed it. Good as new. Er." Lily quickly ammended. She was really screwing this up. She really needed to learn to think before she spoke.

Laurel breathed in deeply, and then breathed in even more deeply.
Her eyes slid shut and then opened again a slightly determined expression entering them, because Laurel was never shocked for long after all… Even if she had just received the biggest revelation in her life “Right, what… others are there but witches?”
Always practical.

Lily wasn't sure if she wanted to shock the girl even more, but she was an honest person, and when asked a question, she couldn't lie to save her bum. "Werewolves, vampires and shapeshifters," Lily said slowly. "And of vampires, both made and born ones."

Laurel stared for a good few seconds, coughed and sat up a little straighter, scared but curios “So… Actual vampires? Like the… Blood drinking kind?”
She’s honestly curios about that, she hasn’t got onto the how exactly that’s possible bit yet but she’s getting there… slowly but surely.

"Yep," Lily said with a slight grimace. She still was getting used to that. Blood=ew. "I haven't met any though, to be honest. Only a couple of witches at the Harman Store. Other than that... I pretty much tend to keep to myself."
Her hands and cheek were still stinging a bit, and it was beginning to get to her. Ducking her head to look at her hands, she thought it wouldn't be too big of a deal to take care of it now. The area they were in was pretty empty at this time of day, and since Laurel was a witch it couldn't be so odd, right? Really, Lily was just looking for an excuse to get rid of the nasty scrapes. She hated to be in pain, and so with a deep breath, she focused on that core of power in her and sent it to her cheek, hands and knees. It wasn't much effort to heal tiny wounds like this, especially on herself, and within a few seconds, the skin was smooth again, no scratches. And best of all, no pain.

"Harman" Laurel frowned, almost having the vague impression that she actually knew the name... But then shrugged, she supposed that it was somebody from a advert or something... She was about to ask more on that but then Lily started healing herself and... Well Laurel kind of lost her concentration.
"So... You really weren't kidding about that being different to other witches thing were you? Unless you have a crystal hidden somewhere" Laurel bit her lip in a rather worried way, unsure about what had happened.

A faint blush rose to Lily's cheeks but she shrugged anyway.
"Yeah, I guess I'm just weird," she said.
She usually didn't talk about her powers to anyone. She'd tried that once with Blaise, and the girl at just laughed at her, disbelieving. Everyone had to use crystals or spells or stuff like that. But not Lily. However, she found herself instinctively trusting Laurel. She could tell, despite the shock, that she was a nice person. Non-judgmental.
"It started a few years ago, with little things," she went on. "I started having weird dreams, about a past life... and then my powers started showing up, especially when I'm emotional. I'm not very good at most of it, since I have no clue on how to train them. So far, I can heal smaller wounds with no real effort. Larger ones, take more focus and tire me out, and it's harder to heal other people that myself. I can also call lightning... but good luck on trying to get it to hit a particular thing. My aim is terrible. And I can give life-or kill- to new plants or plants that are already there. That and I can hear what people are thinking with no effort... but I usually try not to. See? Very weird."

Laurel certainly didn't judge, after all the whole master tools and Black John affair had led to her expecting a lot of things from the world.
Sure, she hadn't expected it to hit her all in one day but she could deal and indeed would deal.
She wouldn't be a witch otherwise.
"Well... Wow, that sounds cool actually, I'm like... A plant witch, sorry I know that sounds awful, but I can't do that..." Laurel bit her lip again, still a little unsure but not completely afraid.

"From what I've read, and heard, no one can," Lily said, embarrassed. "I'm kind of the Witch Oddity in these times." After a moment, the 'plant witch' word registered, and she grinned. "Plant Witch? That doesn't sound awful to me! I knew there was a reason I liked you from the beginning. It's cause we both like the earth!"
And that made Lily extremely happy. She was so tired of everyone around her abusing the earth, or thinking her weird because she cared about it's state and all.
